Your first iFLY visit: 7 practical tips before you fly
A little preparation can make a new experience feel easier. Use this checklist to plan your indoor skydiving visit, from choosing a location to arriving ready for the briefing.

iFLY uses a vertical wind tunnel to give guests the feeling of flight without an airplane or parachute. First-timers receive instruction, flight gear, and help from an instructor in the tunnel. Here are seven useful checks to make before your session.
Choose your location first
Start on the official iFLY website and select a convenient venue. Review that location's current packages, schedule, and participation details before making a reservation.
Check the waiver and eligibility rules
iFLY says guests can fly from age three, and every flyer needs a waiver. A parent or legal guardian must sign for anyone under 18. If anyone in your group has a health or participation question, contact the local venue before booking.
Dress for the flight suit
Wear comfortable clothes and secure, lace-up athletic shoes. iFLY recommends pants and a collarless shirt because a flight suit goes over your clothing. Secure long hair so a helmet fits properly.
Arrive a little early
iFLY recommends arriving about 10 minutes before your scheduled reservation. This gives you time for check-in without rushing into the preflight steps.
Allow roughly 90 minutes in total
The first-time visit is more than the flight itself. iFLY's guidance is to set aside about 90 minutes for check-in, the briefing, gearing up, flying, and the post-flight portion.
Remove anything that could come loose
Before flying, remove watches, jewelry, hair accessories, and loose items, and empty your pockets. The venue may have lockers, but iFLY suggests leaving valuables at home when possible.
Pay attention to the instructor
First-time flyers watch a preflight video and receive guidance before entering the tunnel. An instructor stays with guests during their flight. Friends and family can usually be scheduled together, although first-time guests enter the tunnel one at a time.
